Drug development

Like most universities, we also seek out sponsored research agreements, promote invention disclosures, evaluate technologies and file patent applications. But unlike others, we take our technologies a step further. The NeuroDiscovery Center designs and initiates ‘proof-of-concept' experiments including toxicity, pharmacokinetics and animal efficacy studies. For promising projects, our Laboratory for Drug Discovery in Neurodegeneration initiates early efficacy studies to ensure that we have viable 'drug candidates' attractive to industry.
