Shared Resources
The Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center offers a series of resources to support the neurodegenerative disease research community. Each of the programs listed in the navigation bar on the right go well beyond "core facilities" or simply access to instrumentation but instead include training, technical and intellectual guidance on projects and access to collaborators.
In line with the NeuroDiscovery principle that all members of our community should enjoy equal access to our programs, each of the shared resources is described on its own web page, including an overview of what is available, who runs the facility and how you can gain access.
If you have particular needs that are not met by our existing
program, we welcome your input and suggestions. The NeuroDiscovery
Center is a foundation to build on — new ideas are always welcome.
Current Shared Resources are the ATRC, Biostatistics, Cell Based Assays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Opital Imaging, and Pilot Study grants.
Research Collaboration
The Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center breaks new ground with original
research initiatives. World-class talent, resources and expertise are
identified, assembled, organized and encouraged. A solution may take
different forms. Sometimes it is the creation of an entirely new
research program. Other times it involves developing and improving
existing efforts. Flexibility and imagination are key.
Current Research Collaboration initiatives are Biomarkers Discovery, CADDI, IMSGC, LDDN, and the Mouse NeuroBehavior Core.
Education and Training
People are at the heart of our Education & Training program at the
Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center. Since the NeuroDiscovery Center was
launched in 2001, we have provided over $10 million in awards
throughout the Harvard medical community. This funding has supported 1)
collaborative research grants that bring together investigators from
different institutions; 2) post-doctoral fellowships that foster young
investigators and their research; 3) pre-doctoral training fellowships
and MD/PhD fellowships that support the next generation of researchers;
4) sabbatical fellowships that bring new projects into the
NeuroDiscovery Center's drug discovery program, and 5) innovation
grants that support cutting-edge technological innovations.
Current Education and Training initiatives are the Journal Club, the Symposium, Courses, and Internships.
